The original has to go back to the State. If you bought a vehicle from a private sale within NH or out of State you will need to bring the original Title signed over to you, the seller does not need to be at the appointment. If you want to transfer your current plate you NEED to bring your original registration from the vehicle you are transferring. ![]() If you bought a vehicle from a NH Dealership, you will need to bring your Certificate of Title Application (CTA) and your driver’s license. You will need your bill of sale with a copy of your drivers' license, a $10 check made out to the State of NH - DMV with your contact number, mark it ASAP and they will call you to pick up a 20 day paper plate. ![]() For Temporary Plates – Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is recommending that you use their drop box on the outside of their building. You can also fill out the vital records form and mail it with a check and a copy of your driver's license to Town Clerk, 3G Market Place, Hollis, NH 03049 or you can use our drop box at 3G Market Place, leave your phone # so we can call you when it is ready or mail it to you.
